Shoppers were quick to notice the iconic condiment missing from supermarket shelves
Heinz has left shoppers fuming after discontinuing one of its most popular condiments after 150 years of production.
The company confirmed they will no longer sell Heinz Ploughman’s Pickle after shoppers noticed the condiment missing from supermarkets.
One social media wrote on X: “I am trying to buy Heinz Ploughman’s Pickle but can’t buy it anywhere. Has it been discontinued? I like it 'cause it’s gluten-free.”
Heinz was quick to respond: “Thanks for your message. Sorry to say but this product has now been discontinued.”

“Oh no! It was great & gluten-free so great for us coeliacs,” the shopper responded.
Several shoppers joined the conversation to share their disappointment. One asked: “Why is Ploughman’s Pickly unavailable in the East Sussex area?”
Another person chimed in: “The thing I really like about this is that it’s gluten-free (or at least I don’t react to it, unlike Branston).”
One X user commented: “By far the best pickle for any occasion and use.”
The company has launched a series of iconic condiments in the last century, garnering popularity worldwide.
The Ploughman’s pickle was the perfect ingredient to liven up a mature cheese sandwich or add some tanginess to a jacket potato.
The news comes as Heinz has announced a collaboration with Walkers to create three new flavours of crisps.
The two food companies took to Instagram to announce the debut of their new savoury snacks and fans were delighted.
The trio will include Walkers Cheese Toastie with Heinz Beans, Walkers Roast Chicken with Heinz Seriously Good Mayonnaise, and Walkers Sausage Sarnie with Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
One foodie asked: “Where will they be stocked please and how soon? Cannot wait to try the cheese toastie flavour.

Another echoed: “Can’t wait to try!” while a third chimed in: “I need to pop to the shop.
One crisp enthusiast quipped: “Ooooo, I am very, very excited about these,” while another said: “Love these! Bean and cheese toasties are the best!!”
Not everyone was convinced by the collaboration, however, with some demanding the return of other flavours instead.
One fan complained: "Now who asked for these flavours? Just bring back Worcester sauce flavour." Another asked: "What has beans with a cheese toastie?"
