The Christmas-themed sweets were spotted in B&M

Limited Edition Merry-Mix Haribo sweets have been found on supermarket shelves this week.

While Britons are usually excited to try new food products, releasing Christmas sweets in August was too much for some people.

The Haribo mix features sweets in seasonal shapes including Christmas trees and snowmen.

They were shared in a post by the food blog Newfoodsuk, which has received nearly 300 positive 'reactions' on Facebook.

However, Britons were quick to point out that it is "too early" to think about Christmas.

One wrote: "Gee, Halloween first" while another agreed, "I don't want to think about Christmas yet. Let's get to Halloween".

A third agreed "it's not even Halloween, never mind Christmas". Other shoppers didn't care about the theme of the sweets and were excited to try them.

A shopper said, "I'll have some them", while another called it an "excellent addition" to the Haribo range.

A third simply said they "need" the sweets while another tagged their friend and asked, "can we buy these please?".

One more joked: "That's not a share size for me." One customer was less interested in trying them. They penned: "Same stuff in a different packet. Very overrated."

Christmas may seem far away as Britons enjoy the sunny August weather this weekend, but these are not the only festive confectionary making their way into supermarkets.

"Almost tastes like blonde chocolate with hints of Kinder chocolate, absolutely stunning! We got this from Asda!"

One customer who had already tried the chocolate said, "it's really nice" while a second added, "these sound lovely". More jumped in to say the chocolate looked "delicious" and "yummy".
