Items on the chain’s spring menu, including pasta and rice bowls, contain less than 400 calories
Greggs has unveiled a shake-up to its spring menu with a host of new items set to make a comeback.
As of March 14, six pasta pots and rice bowls will be launched, comprising new and improved recipes low in calories. This will give Britons more healthy options to choose from when visiting branches.
The new meals are part of Greggs’ Balanced Choice Range, which features recipes amounting to less than 400 calories per meal while being nutritionally balanced.
Fans looking for lighter lunch options will be able to choose from the new Piri Piri Chicken pasta, tossed in a spicy mayonnaise-style dressing with sweetcorn and chicken breast slices marinated for an extra kick.

PAThe Pesto and Mozzarella Pasta is another healthy addition to the menu that embraces traditional Mediterranean flavours.
Other popular items set to make a comeback include Sweet Potato Bhaji & Rice, Smoky Cajun Rice with BBQ Chicken & Sweetcorn Fritters, Feta & Tomato Pasta and Chicken & Bacon Pasta.
The range of pasta pots and rice bowls will be available as part of a cold sandwich and salad deal, which customers can purchase along with any hot or cold drink for £3.75.
It will be available in-store or can be ordered via Click + Collect through the Greggs App or website and for delivery via Just Eat or Uber Eats.
The chain is also updating its Easter menu this week, and fans will be disappointed to know that it won’t be bringing back its hot cross bun for the occasion.
In fact, 2024 will mark the third year that the Greggs have decided not to bring back the fan-favourite baked good.
However, the chain has announced the addition of two new sweet treats, with several more items set to make a comeback. Three Easter goodies being reintroduced include the Easter chocolate cake bar, the bunny biscuit and the Easter bun.
The highly anticipated Easter bun, which is priced at £1 and contains 210 calories, consists of a vanilla sponge topped with fondant and a sugary white Easter bunny.
The crunchy chocolate bunny biscuits, on the other hand, contain 328 calories each and will set customers back £1.15.

It comes as McDonald’s has announced it will axe several items from its menu as of Tuesday, just weeks after they were added.
Among the sweet treats set to be scrapped from the menu is the KitKat Ruby McFlurry which many customers have described as the “best ever”. Like other items, it was only intended to be added to the menu for a limited time.
Fans, however, have been buzzing over the return of McDonald’s all-time favourite breakfast wrap, which made a comeback after a three-year hiatus.
