Coca-Cola has issued a recall affecting more than 10,000 cans of soda due to plastic contamination.
The voluntary recall, issued by Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, LLC, covers 864 cases containing 12 cans each.
The affected products were distributed to retailers in the US states of Illinois and Wisconsin.
"Hard or sharp foreign objects in food may cause traumatic injury including laceration and perforation of tissues of the mouth, tongue, throat, stomach and intestine as well as damage to the teeth and gums," stated the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall, reported to the FDA earlier this month, comes amid a growing trend of food and drink recalls across major brands and retailers.
The FDA has classified this as a "Class II" recall, indicating a situation where exposure to the product may cause temporary or medically reversible health consequences.
The probability of serious adverse health consequences is considered remote.
Affected cans have a UPC of 0 49000-00634 6, while the 12-can packs have a UPC of 0 49000-02890 4.
GB News has contacted Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, LLC for comment regarding the contamination.
Consumers in the affected states are advised to check their products against these identification codes.
The recall trend continues, with Tesco pulling various Free From Meal Kits from supermarket shelves due to the undeclared soya in certain products.

The recall was announced by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) in a statement explaining that the supermarket giant is taking action because the presence of soya is not mentioned on the product labels.
According to the Cleveland Clinic: "A soy allergy is a type of food allergy that occurs when your immune system mistakenly triggers a defensive response to soy.
"This response or allergic reaction can cause various symptoms, including vomiting, stomach cramps, indigestion, diarrhoea and, in severe cases, anaphylaxis."
The recalled products include Tesco Free From Katsu Curry Meal Kit (250g) with best before dates up to 12 December 2025, and Tesco Free From Sweet & Sour Meal Kit (250g) with best before dates up to 19 May 2025.
