Cadbury has left shoppers gobsmacked after launching its Christmas advent calendar.
Shoppers were stunned to see the advent calendar promoted on social media at the height of summer, claiming it’s too early in the year to be thinking about Christmas.
A picture of the festive treat was shared on the @newfoodsuk Instagram page, with a caption that read: “New Cadbury Dairy Milk Creamy Advent Calendar! We got ours from Cadbury Gifts Direct!”
Several shoppers rushed to the comments to share their disappointment over the timing of Cadbury’s stock release.

“It’s August,” wrote one user, while another added: “I’m sorry but what happened to living in the present month? Trying to enjoy summer but having autumn/Xmas thrown at us MONTHS in advance.
“It’s like we can’t enjoy what we’ve got right now. Let us live a little.”
“This is scary to think about Christmas at this time of the year,” said another.
“The fact that Christmas starts earlier and earlier every year really doesn’t help my depression. I get businesses want to make a profit but August is really taking the pee.”
“Omg, why” exclaimed one shopper.
Cadbury's Dairy Milk Creamy Advent Calender is the latest addition to the brand’s seasonal lineup.
Its launch comes after eagle-eyed shoppers blasted a bargain store for stocking their shelves with Christmas decor, claiming it’s “criminal” to sell seasonal goods so early in the year.
Lorna Cooper, from Paisley, was shocked after stumbling across a selection of Christmas products at The Range.
The mother took to Facebook to share a photo of shelves packed with Christmas products.
The post was captioned: “OMG Christmas has arrived at The Range. I thought it was bad when they had the Halloween stuff in last week.”

The post was flooded with comments, with one user writing: “Xmas in the shops in July is criminal, shouldn’t be allowed.”
A second user blasted: “Wishing your life away, just enjoy each season as it comes.
“When I see Christmas in all the shops for months and months it ruins the magic of Christmas for my children, especially when you’re trying to explain how far away Christmas is, but they don’t understand because everywhere looks Christmassy.
“Ruins it for the kids this early,” chimed in a fourth person.
