Comments on social media were overwhelmingly enthusiastic, with users writing "Yes, please", "We've gotta grab these", and "These on a roast", accompanied by heart-eye emojis.

Others urged friends to "grab some of those for Sunday", describing the puddings as "yum", "lovely", and "a need".

Some Yorkshire pud fans suggested immediate plans to purchase the product, writing: "Maybe we should pop to Aldi to get some stuff for the roast this weekend."

"Need to try!" exclaimed one excited customer. Another particularly enthusiastic shopper predicted they would be "the bangingest", suggesting high expectations for the taste.

The comments section was flooded with social media users tagging fellow Wagyu beef fans: "This has got you written all over it."

Of course, you can't please everybody, and not all shoppers were convinced by Aldi's Specially Selected Wagyu Beef Dripping Yorkshire Puddings.

Wagyu beef is world-renowned for its exceptional taste and typically commands a hefty price tag in restaurants and specialist butchers.

Some shoppers questioned whether the premium ingredient makes any difference, with one commenting: "What an absolute con, since when does beef fat from a wagyu cow taste any different from normal beef dripping?"

Another agreed: "The Wagyu element is absolutely pointless. Not saying they're bad or anything -probably quite nice. But just make them with standard beef dripping."

The new Yorkshire puddings join Aldi's existing range of premium Wagyu beef products already available in stores.
