Aldi has finally shared the mystery flavours of its limited-edition hot cross buns as cola, mango and passionfruit, and strawberry jam, ending weeks of taste bud torment for shoppers across the nation.
The supermarket's innovative range caused quite a stir when they first appeared on shelves in March, with their eye-catching packaging and daring flavour challenge.
Thousands of curious customers submitted their guesses in Aldi's first-ever "guess the hot cross bun flavour" competition, with guesses ranging from apple pie to mango chutney.
The unique Village Bakery Mystery Hot Cross Buns are priced at 99p for a pack of two and are available in stores now for a limited time.
Three winners will be selected at random from correct entries for each of the three mystery flavours and will receive £1,000 worth of Aldi vouchers each.
Many participants found themselves tongue-tied by the unusual combinations, with some mistaking the cola flavour for lemon meringue.
The first mystery flavour was revealed as cola, described as a "cult favourite" that shoppers "never knew they needed but are now popping to the shops to get".
For the second flavour, Aldi unveiled mango and passionfruit, aiming to offer "a slice of paradise with every bite" for those "passionate about fruity flavours".
The third and final mystery flavour is strawberry jam, described as "quintessentially British" and "jam-packed with flavour".
Aldi suggested enjoying this variety with "a slathering of butter or a dollop of clotted cream" for the perfect Easter treat.
Chief commercial officer at Aldi UK, Julie Ashfield, said: "We've loved seeing the nation put their taste buds to the test and we're thrilled so many people embraced the challenge.
"We hope these unexpected flavours add a little extra excitement to our shoppers' Easter celebrations."
