Sainsbury's has shared a warning for a meat product sold in stores

Sainsbury's shoppers should check for affected packs of chorizo.

Some packs could contain listeria which can lead to serious illness.

Farmer shares fears over fruit and veg farming in the UK

Anyone who has bought the above product has been urged not to consume it.

A statement said: "Sainsbury's are recalling the above product as some packs contain Listeria that could cause illness if consumed without cooking.

"We are asking customers who have purchased any of the affected batch codes of the above product not to consume it.

"Return it to their nearest Sainsbury's store, where they will receive a full refund.

"For any concerns or queries or if you are unable to return the product to store, then please visit our website Sainsburys.co.uk/help or contact our Careline on 0800 028 8303.

"Sainsbury's would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."

Listeria can cause symptoms such as a high temperature, aches and pains, chills or sickness.

It usually goes away on its own but in some cases, it can cause serious illness.
