The English Breakfast Society has replaced a key element of the classic English fry up.
Staples of the full English breakfast include bacon, sausages, eggs and beans, with a number of other items making appearances.
One has caused a wave on controversy within the enthused breakfast community.
The English Breakfast Society has put its “foot down” on the inclusion of the humble hash browns in the meal, saying it shows a “lack of respect” for tradition.

A 2017 YouGov poll found bacon is the most important part of a fry up with 89 per cent of people saying they would include it on their plate.
Only 60 per cent of the respondents said they viewed the hash brown as a staple.
Founder of the English Breakfast Society, Guise Bule de Missenden, said bubble and squeak should be used in its place.
Sharing his disgust at the inclusion of hash browns he said: “Somebody had to put their foot down. Otherwise we'll find kebab meat in our English breakfast before long.

“The hash brown – the reconstituted, tater-based fast food – was popularised by McDonald's but somehow we now find it in our English breakfast.” He told The Times.
“We're all about bringing back the bubble. That's the reason we're saying no to hash browns. Hashtag, bring back the bubble.”
The English Breakfast Society says it is “dedicated to the history and heritage of the traditional English breakfast” and works to “ restore the tradition of the English breakfast back to its former glory.”
It insists that bubble and squeak is “a tastier, and more authentically British potato cake”.

In a separate tweet it wrote: “PSA: The frozen hash brown was popularised by McDonalds.
“Serving them to customers in your English breakfast as a lazy replacement for bubble & squeak signals your lack of respect for the tradition, your customers, and your country. Do better.
“The Hash Brown Army may outnumber us, but we fight for a just cause, to give the people of our Kingdom bubble & squeak, a tastier, and more authentically British potato cake.
“Join us in our quest to restore the authenticity of our English breakfast tradition.”
