Get up to £500 off the UK's best-selling mattresses as Emma Sleep launches blockbuster spring sale
EMMA SLEEP
Emma Sleep's Spring Sale is a week-long event with up to 40% off
Sleep brand Emma has kickstarted its week-long Spring Sale, with discounts of 40% on its mattresses. That equates to savings of over £500 on the pricier models. No matter which mattress you choose, Emma offers free delivery throughout the UK too — so there are no hidden charges at checkout.
Emma is one of a slew of so-called bed-in-a-box brands, which roll and vacuum-pack all-foam or hybrid mattresses so they can be delivered without any hassle. Most of these companies will collect your old mattress and recycle it — saving you a trip to the tip.
Buying a mattress online might seem riskier than heading to your local showroom. To reassure customers, the team at Emma offers a 200-night trial period on all mattresses from its online store.
If you're unhappy with the mattress at any point during the first 200 nights, you can organise for free collection and a full refund. That should reassure anyone who is curious about trying an all-foam or hybrid design.
If you've never heard of Emma before, the innovative direct-to-consumer brand is behind the UK's best-selling mattress — known as the Emma Original — which has a shelf bulging with 25 industry awards.
Emma Sleep offers 0% APR repayments across 3 to 12 months across most of its products too.
We've got details about the latest mattress deals from Emma Sleep, including discounts on mattresses, sofa beds, duvets, and bundles. We've also answered some of the most commonly asked questions about the UK brand and advice when buying mattresses online for the first time.
Emma is responsible for some of the best-selling mattresses in the UK — and prices have been reduced by 40% in the latest sale
EMMA SLEEP
With 500,000 Emma Original mattresses sold since 2020, it's clear this design is a winner with sleepers across the UK. Critics are impressed too, with the mattress earning five separate Which? awards too.
This is an all-foam design, with three separate strata inside the mattress, including a study high-resilience foam layer for support for your back, a memory foam layer for spinal support and pressure relief, and a breathable temperature-regulating foam designed to ensure sweat won’t disturb your sleep.
Emma has revealed the NextGen Premium Mattress is the best-selling model from its line-up. Unlike the most affordable mattresses in its online store, this uses a hybrid design that combines smaller pocket springs with layers of foam to improve air circulation and stability with spinal support.
NextGen Premium Mattress has seven layers — over double what you'll find inside the Original Mattress.
The Luxe Cooling Mattress is another hybrid design from the team at Emma. The pocket springs are divided into seven separate zones, designed to provide support for specific parts of the body, with head, shoulders, chest, lower back, hips, thighs, and feet all requiring different levels of rigidity.
Unlike the most affordable mattress in the line-up, the breathable cover on the Emma Luxe Cooling Mattress can be unzipped and machine washed. That'll keep everything fresh for a while, which is good since Emma offers a 10-year warranty with this mattress model.
Emma will supercharge the discounts available in its Spring Sale when you combine its mattresses with other products, including pillows, duvets, and bed frames.
For example, while the NextGen Premium Mattress enjoys a healthy 30% discount when bought separately, Emma will increase the price cut to 35% for its bundle with the Premium Pillow and Cloud Duvet.
Hybrid mattresses still contain memory foam, but combine this with pocket springs to enhance airflow and stability at the edges
EMMA SLEEP
Like most bed-in-a-box brands, Emma offers all-foam and hybrid mattresses in its online store. Each of these designs has its own benefits, and your preference will vary based on your sleep preferences.
Emma ships its mattresses in a neat vacuum-packed box directly from the warehouse to your door. As soon as the order has shipped, you'll be provided with a tracking link. UK delivery is always free of charge, and you'll also be able to return your mattress (there's no need to vacuum-pack it) at no cost too.
When your new mattress arrives, you must cut into the plastic to let air back into the foam. It's best to position the mattress on your bed before you begin to remove the plastic wrapping as it'll be much harder to move after it's regained its shape.
Emma Sleep recommends leaving the mattress for five hours before settling down for a snooze. This will allow the foam or hybrid mattress time to expand after it was shipped vacuum-packed
EMMA SLEEP
It can take up to five hours before your all-foam or hybrid mattress completely regains its shape.
You'll also notice a plasticky "new" smell during the first few nights with the Emma mattress. If your mattress has a detachable cover, you can put it in the wash to remove the odour.
Keeping a box for over half a year in case you decide you'd rather not keep sleeping on an Emma mattress is a little excessive.
While the sleep brand says it would "prefer to receive the products back in their respective box (as it's the most sustainable option)", Emma will not refuse to honour the 200-night trial if you don't have the box. That's good news for those short on space, like those living in a flat who want to see whether a mattress from the brand is a good fit for them.
Emma only asks that you try to protect the mattress when handing it back to the courier, whether that's with plastic wrapping or another box that you can repurpose.
