Diet and exercise are often praised as the pillars of weight loss, but hydration is an often-forgotten - yet important - factor in how the body burns fat.
Those looking to lose weight can reduce their appetite and speed up their metabolism by drinking more water.
Water has many benefits. It promotes healthy, glowing skin, helps the body get rid of waste and will generally enable the body to perform at its best.
It has also been linked to fat burning as some studies show it can speed up the metabolism, meaning the body will burn more calories even when you are resting.

Speaking exclusively to GB News, certified personal trainer and owner of Jack City Fitness Marshall Weber shared hydration for weight loss.
He said: "Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep the metabolism in check and curb those hunger pangs."
Dehydration is often mistaken for hunger which can cause slimmers to snack unnecessarily and consume more calories than they need.
The best way to hydrate is by drinking plenty of water, but low-calorie hot drinks also contribute to our hydration.
Marshall added: "Go-to beverages should be mainly water and can include herbal teas and black coffee."
The expert continued: "Incorporate regular exercise into your routine.
"Whether one gravitates towards running, lifting weights or doing yoga, staying active not only burns calories but also helps build muscle, boosting one’s overall energy burn.
"Mixing things up is a great way to kickstart the metabolism and shed fat."

A woman shared how she shed around eight stone at the age of 43 without changing what she ate. Instead of drastically changing her diet plan, she focused more on reducing the size of her portions.
She said: "I managed to lose a lot of weight at one point, but it slowly crept back because the diets were so restrictive. It was disheartening to see all my hard work undone. It turned out my portion sizes were the issue."
