Making a shift in how you consume food can lead to a 'drastic amount of weight loss'

A weight loss journey has many components, such as exercising regularly, sleeping well and dieting effectively.
A slimmer has shared how changing the way she consumed food was the catalyst behind her weight loss success.
Monique Hinton dropped 9st 3lb and shared on her YouTube channel (@JourneyWithTheHintons) how intermittent fasting led to her losing a "drastic amount of weight".
She said: "I started intermittent fasting. I am telling you, this was the game changer because when I was doing this, I lost anywhere from 1st to 1st 5lb a month. The weight was falling off."

YouTube/Journey With The HintonsMonique did her intermittent fast in "several different ways", starting with a 16:8 ratio and then moving to an 18:6 ratio.
She explained: "I started with a 16:8, which means I would not eat for 16 hours, and then during an eight-hour window, I would consume my food.
"Eventually, I graduated to an 18:6, in which I did not eat for 18 hours and only ate in a six-hour window. Then, I moved onto a 20:4."
The slimmer altered her intermittent fasting schedule so that "her body would not get used to eating in a certain way", which could slow down her weight loss.
An article published in the National Library of Medicine illustrated the benefits of intermittent fasting.
It stated: "A study [conducted over] eight weeks to one year, with a combined total of 1206 participants (527 undergoing intermittent fasting, 572 using calorie restriction, and 107 control participants), demonstrated weight loss of 4.6 per cent to 13 per cent."
While Monique's method worked for her, consulting a specialist before starting a weight loss journey is advisable to determine the best plan for you.
In addition to focusing on how she ate food, the weight loss enthusiast also addressed what she consumed.

The YouTuber explained: "I had to cut out fast food. Fast food and I were best friends, so that was one of the first things to go.
"I stopped drinking anything except water because I told myself that if I am going to consume any calories at all, they will definitely not be in drinks - they will be in food."
Monique still had foods that she craved, but "figured out a healthier way to eat them".
She said: "I loved shrimp fried rice. So, I found a better way to eat it, making shrimp fried cauliflower rice instead. One thing that was important to me was not to deny myself anything because every time I denied myself food, it made me want it even more."
