Sugary, processed snacks often have a lot of calories with little nutritional benefits. However, he shared the snacks that can keep you satisfied without throwing off your weight loss progress.
The doctor explained: "Choosing fruit, nuts, or yoghurt, for example, can increase satiety.
"They can provide essential nutrients and vitamins, and help you eat less when it comes time to eat your main meals."
Nuts and yoghurt are high in protein which can keep you feeling fuller for longer. Pairing these together with fruit is a high-fibre and nutritious snack.
However, it is worth noting nuts are often high in calories, so be aware of how many you are eating.
