Weight loss: Three foods you need to cut from your diet to lose weight

The foods have been included in a pre-watershed ban on junk food
An expert has shared that three foods people often deem healthy are causing them to gain weight.
Senior nutritionist at Body Fabulous Health Clinic, Hannah Trueman, revealed eating crumpets, croissants and scones is bad for people and is now technically classed as 'junk food.'
The three foods have recently been banned from pre-watershed advertisements on television, in a move to reduce children's exposure to foods high in fat, sugar or salt.
Hannah Trueman explained why the three foods are worse for people than they think.
Crumpets are one of three foods people should cut from their diets
WaitroseShe said: "Crumpets have likely been included [in the ban] due to their high salt content which contributes to cardiovascular risk when consumed in excess.
"Whilst they can provide some nutrients like iron and B vitamins from fortified flour, they are highly processed and lack substantial fibre or protein.
"Folic acid, which is often added to white bread, flours and some processed foods such as these, can impact behaviour and brain function in children."
The expert explained that the amount of butter in croissants is not good for people due to their high levels of saturated fat and calories.
Hannah said: "While they provide small amounts of vitamin B and trace minerals, they are highly processed and low in fibre and protein, making them less satiating.
"Eating too many can contribute to weight gain and increase cardiovascular risk, especially when served with sweet jams and spreads. Moderation is key and consider opting for whole-grain puff pastry or protein-packed savoury options like egg muffins for a lighter, yet more nutrient-dense alternative."
The nutritionist believed that scones have been included in the ban because of their high sugar and saturated fat content.
She said: "They do offer small amounts of calcium and iron if fortified flour has been used but are calorie-dense and processed.
