Eating a high-protein diet has been shown to have huge weight loss benefits.
"Protein is the single most important nutrient for weight loss and a better looking body," experts at Healthline explained.
Protein is incredibly satiating which means it will keep Britons fuller for longer and less likely to reach for unhealthy snacks.
A study published in the National Library of Medicine showed a high-protein diet boosts the metabolism.
It found those eating on such a plan burned around 80 to 100 more calories per day while seeing a drop in their appetite.
Eating foods high in protein is particularly important for dieters when they exercise as it helps them to build muscle.
Dr Mosley added the importance of regular exercise as well as healthy eating when trying to lose weight.
"You should also take up regular exercise — particularly resistance exercise, such as press-ups and squats, to help preserve muscles," he told Daily Mail.
