An expert shared some tricks to help you eat less
Weight loss ultimately comes down to calories in and calories out. So consuming less than you are burning off will lead to fat loss.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, an expert shared tips and tricks to help you eat less.
While different diet plans can aid weight loss, they may not be necessary for those who already follow a healthy diet.
However, some healthy foods are high in calories meaning slimmers may lose weight simply because they are eating too much of the good stuff.
An expert shared how different plates can make portion control easier
GETTYNutrition coach and yoga teacher at OriGym Abbie Watkins shared the importance of portion control and gave some tips to help eat less.
She explained: "Portion Control is a great way to lose weight and manage your eating habits.
"People forget that nutrient-rich foods such as nuts and seeds can contribute to weight gain, even though they are filled with healthy fats.
"You can practice good portion control by using smaller plates and bowls, which can help reduce your calorie intake to promote weight loss.
"You could even measure out servings to get a better sense of how much you're eating."
Serving a normal-sized portion of food on a large plate can trick the brain into thinking it is not a lot of food and that you need to eat more. Moving to smaller plates or bowls can help.
Similarly, portioning out high-calorie snacks, such as nuts, can be more helpful in achieving weight loss goals than snacking straight from a packet.
Mindful eating can also help. This involves slowing down and giving your brain and stomach time to register what you are eating and if you are actually hungry.
