A woman credits the four lifestyle changes for helping her achieve her goals

Scientific studies have long highlighted the complexity of weight loss, confirming that there is no one-size-fits-all approach.

For effective fat shedding, dieters are required to reassess the daily behaviours that make up their day.

Those expecting rapid results often face disappointment because the body loses muscle mass and suffers from nutritional gaps, so it's worth making small changes that will have lasting effects.

Taking to TikTok, one successful slimmer recently shared four minor habits that helped her shed 6st 4lb (40kg).

Combined with a healthy diet, walking is a helpful way to create a calorie deficit. Carla said she aimed to walk between 20 minutes to an hour every single day during her transformation.

She coupled this with a habit of volume eating, where you eat bigger portions of low-calorie foods.

People who follow this approach typically eat larger portions of low-calorie foods and limit their intake of medium-calorie foods. They also strictly limit or avoid high-calorie foods.

This approach helps a person meet all their nutritional requirements without having to abstain.

According to Carla, certain foods that make volume eating easier, include oats, salad, egg whites, proteins, yoghurt, unflavoured popcorn and potatoes.

The slimmer also makes sure to have a pre-workout supplement, which helps increase energy and athletic performance during exercise.

These supplements are often taken in powder form mixed with water, and consumed 30 to 60 minutes before a workout.

For her workout, Carla focussed predominantly on strength training, which promotes muscle mass.

The Mayo Clinic states: “As you incorporate strength training into your fitness routine, you may notice improvement in your strength over time.

“As your muscle mass increases, you’ll like to be able to lift weight more easily and for longer periods of time.

“If you keep it up, you can continue to increase your strength, even if you’re not in shape when you begin.”

The health body notes that if dieters cut about 500 calories a day from their usual diet, they can expect to lose about 0.5 to one pound a week.

"But this can vary depending on your body, how much weight you want to lose, your gender and activity level," explained the institution.
