Most people understand that weight loss requires a calorie deficit, making it all the more frustrating that the scale doesn't budge.
A 50-year-old content creator who lost almost 1st 6lb has revealed how walking helped her shed body fat.
Julie Eigenmann shared her weight loss journey on YouTube, explaining how it began during a European holiday.
"I lost almost 20lb," she said. "It all began during our Europe trip while I was clocking in 17,000 to 22,000 steps a day."

Upon returning home, Eigenmann decided to maintain her high step count, discovering that walking was particularly gentle on her body. She encouraged others to begin with walking, regardless of location.
"To avoid boredom I watch my favourite series on Netflix or some videos on YouTube while I walk," Eigenmann explained. "Eventually I added some strength training because it's important to overall fitness too.
"If you don't know where to start with your fitness journey, start with walking, whether it's on a treadmill, outside in nature, or even at the mall."
Eigenmann also made significant dietary adjustments alongside her walking routine.
"I was overweight and had really high cholesterol," she revealed in another YouTube clip.
To address the health concerns, Eigenmann "cut out foods that cause inflammation and focussed on walking and strength training".
Walking has been shown to improve circulation and boost mood, benefits that Eigenmann highlighted as particularly valuable.

Health experts suggest that increasing walking pace can enhance weight loss results.
According to Mayo Clinic: "The more you walk and the quicker your pace, the more calories you'll burn."
The NHS recommends between 10,000 to 30,000 steps daily for optimal health benefits. This target isn't arbitrary but can lead to significant improvements in overall well-being.
Those who achieve this daily step count often report better sleep quality, which is crucial for health.
