A woman lost a whopping 9st 7lb by making key changes in her life

A mother-of-two shared how she "transformed" her life and shed an astounding amount of weight.

She shed nearly 10 stone and eight dress sizes, and said her mood dramatically improved.

Katie Chadwick, from West Sussex, put on weight after the birth of her daughter and as she battled aches and pains making it difficult to get out of bed.

She would fill up on takeaways throughout the week, often eating pizza, kebabs, Chinese food and ice cream.

Katie decided to make a change after discovering her BMI was 44, much above the NHS healthy range of between 18.5 and 24.9.

Not only did she slim down, she improved her relationship with food.

The mother-of-two explained she would eat many of the foods she ate before, but ditched takeaways and chose smaller portions.

She said: "I now have a much healthier relationship with food.

"I still occasionally have the urge to binge eat, but it makes me very poorly.

"Now I enjoy all the same foods as before, but in much smaller portions.

"I will have one crumpet or a slice of toast first thing, followed by half a protein shake as a snack mid-morning.

"If I am not working, lunch is usually beans on toast or half a bacon sandwich. I always try to make sure there’s a bit of protein.

"My dinners haven’t changed in what I eat. I will enjoy spaghetti bolognese, pizza and jacket potatoes and cheese - just much less of it."

As well as a healthy diet, Katie opted for gastric sleeve surgery, which she had done at Weight Loss Riga in Latvia.

The slimmer qualified for weight loss surgery due to her high BMI but decided to find a clinic abroad after she was put on a five-year NHS list.

Weight loss surgeries such as a gastric band can help those who are extremely overweight and it involves a band being placed around your stomach.

It helps slimmers to feel fuller and therefore eat less, but the decision to do this should not be taken lightly.

Katie explained her mood also improved as she lost weight.

She said: "Before I was snappy, moody, very sad and would start arguments with my husband.

"Now I feel happy in myself and, in turn, my children are happier and my marriage has improved massively."
