Eating healthily is essential for safe and effective weight loss. A fitness expert shared the "best foods" to incorporate into your diet if you want to slim down.
Dr Anthony Balduzzi (NMD), founder of The Fit Mother Project and Fit Father Project, told slimmers to start eating chia seeds. These can be incorporated into meals in so many ways.
Speaking about chia seeds, the fitness guru said: "These bad boys are amazing. If you turn to the back and look at their nutrition stats, they are loaded with healthy fats - they have those omega-3 fatty acids that are good for your heart, brain, weight loss and insulin sensitivity.
"They are loaded with fibre and protein and they're so versatile."

For a weight loss-friendly breakfast, Britons can enjoy chia seeds in a morning smoothie or protein shake.
Dr Anthony suggested adding a few tablespoons of chia seeds to your smoothie ingredients before blending, letting them sit for a while in the water or milk.
He explained that when chia seeds are soaking they form a gel - "and when that gel gets into your stomach it keeps you full longer". The expert called this a "calorie hack".
The doctor said chia seeds can also be incorporated into a dessert.
The doctor's healthy foods for weight loss
- Chia seeds
- High-quality eggs
- Avocados
- Green tip bananas
- 'S' fish - sardines, salmon, shellfish
- High-quality grass-fed beef
- Organic blueberries
- Nuts and seeds
- Beans and lentils
- Organic salad greens
Mix chia seeds with coconut milk and Stevia (a sweet-tasting plant) to form a delicious chia seed pudding.
He added: "There's so many ways to get this into your life. Get more chia seeds: it will help you lose weight."

Chia seeds can even be added to water. For lunches and dinners, chia seeds can be added to salads, baked into bread, or mixed into dips, soups, and sauces.
It's important to note though that chia seeds are not calorie-free. According to the experts at Nutritionix, there are around 58 calories in a tablespoon of chia seeds, so if you're adding three tablespoons, this is around 174 calories.
In a similar vein, Dr Anthony told slimmers to stock up on nuts and seeds such as pistachios and walnuts.
He said: "Nuts are such an amazing food because they are super healthy for you. They are loaded with protein, healthy fats, and fibre." These can be incorporated into meals or alternatively, served as a snack portion.
