The lady put down part of her success to strength training

When on a weight loss journey, it is great to take inspiration from other slimmers and learn from one another.

One woman, who shed 6st 4lb whilst in her 40s, put down her success to following four principles.

Ursula discussed on YouTube how eliminating processed sugars helped her lose weight.

She said: "I had a sugar addiction most of my life, so I had to stop. Cutting out the cakes, pies, ice cream, sweet treats, I had to let all of that go."

The slimmer did not cut out foods with naturally occurring sugars or in foods when she ate out.

Ursula explained: "I tracked my sugar intake and just by cutting out the refined sugars, I stayed within a relatively healthy range of sugar intake for the day.

"I could tell a difference in just a couple of days. I felt more refreshed and energetic. I felt like I could get more things done over the course of the day. I knew that sugar was holding me back."

The slimmer focused on reaching her protein targets daily by counting her macronutrients.

Ursula said: "I switched from calorie counting to macro-counting and saw a huge difference in my weight loss.

"I lost not only 6st 4lb, but 5st of that was in nine months [when] I focused on tracking my foods."

A weight loss journey is all about balance and not being too "overly restrictive" with your diet. The slimmer said: "I call my method of eating clean-ish. What I mean by this is, for the most part, I ate whole, unprocessed foods.

"There were times when I did have to eat out and when I did have to eat something processed, but I was trying to make the healthiest choices that I could. I did not stress over it. I just tracked what I was eating and made sure it fit within my macro goal."

One of the biggest protagonists in her weight loss success was incorporating strength training.

Ursula explained: "The fat just started to melt off. When I started to strength train, my body had a mind of its own. It got to the point where I had no weight loss goal, I am just going to let my body do what it wants to do.

"I got down to 9st 4lb, I never thought I would get down to that. I was building muscle and in turn, that muscle was helping me to burn fat."

In other weight loss news, another weight loss enthusiast lost 1st 12lb in two months and kept it off by boosting their intake of the right ingredients.
