A slimmer has shared how she lost more than 50lbs on three different occasions without cardio

Weight loss is synonymous with rigorous workouts and abstinence from food, but sometimes myriad other methods exist.

Oftentimes, slimmers succeed by choosing a sustainable method that emphasises the quality of exercise and food.

Lacy Baier claims she has managed to lose more than 50lbs on three separate occasions without strict dieting and cardio.

She credits strength training, clean eating and upping her protein intake for her results.

“I’m not a huge fan of cardio and try to avoid it whenever I can," she said in a YouTube clip. "In fact, I’ve lost over 50 lbs over three different times in my life without cardio.

“Don’t get me wrong, I’ve also used cardio as a method for losing weight and I've tried that out too.

“But overall it’s really not my energy source when I’m trying to lose weight and get into shape, but for the longest time, I thought cardio was the only way that you could lose weight.

“There’s a bunch of more efficient and enjoyable ways to lose weight and to keep it off."

Lacy explained that choosing lean proteins, vegetables and legumes, reduces inflammation and makes it easier for the body to burn fat and keep it off.

In simple terms, whole foods keep the body feeling fuller for longer, ultimately helping to quell unwanted cravings.

Lacy credits strength training for her weight loss, claiming that the low-intensity workout "changed her life".

“In a nutshell, it’s amazing," she said. "Not only does it help you to be toned, but it’ll also help you burn calories for up 30 hours after your workout.

“So you’re going to higher metabolism and you’re going to have all that strength training working in your favour all day long.”

Carlie Gasia, certified wellness coach and Sleepopolis, confirmed that low-intensity exercise can prove more effective than high-intensity exercise for weight loss.

She told GB News: “Low-intensity exercise uses fat as fuel, therefore burning fat, and high-intensity exercise burns carbohydrates as fuel so it oxidizes less fat than lower-intensity exercises.

“These types of exercise are also usually more sustainable, so you can exercise for a longer period of time and burn more calories overall.

“These exercises are also easier to stay consistent with because they are less demanding and make it easier to stick to a routine leading to more consistent calories burning for weight loss.”
