Snacking is very common but munching on the wrong foods can deter your weight loss goals.
Fitness and weight loss expert Dr Anthony Balduzzi from 'The Fit Mother - Fitness For Busy Moms', weighed in on the "worst foods to eat for your health". He advised health-conscious people to stop eating packaged crisps, as they are not nutritious and can be a big cause of weight gain.
The expert said: "I can almost hear you groaning from here. We all love them, many of us grew up on them.
"The problem is that crisps are the living definition of empty calories. It's taking a low-quality potato, putting inflammatory oils on it, then deep frying that thing and covering it with salt.

"There's basically no nutritional value, so many calories, and they do not keep you full."
He added that crisps are also often loaded with preservatives and other things that are "bad for your health".
Dr Anthony shared the alarming statistic: "If you have 3oz (85g) of crisps per week, that adds over 24,000 calories to your diet every single year. This is the equivalent to around 7lbs of added fat."
But as many crisps lovers know, the snack is particularly tempting. Dr Anthony advised people not to keep crisps at home.
The doctor's foods to avoid
- Crisps
- Non-organic bread
- Baked goods
- Pasta and cream sauce
- Fried fish and chicken
- Processed meats
- Chips
- Too much dairy and ice cream
- Highly processed plant-based foods
- High-sugar fruit drinks
He advised health-conscious slimmers to "throw those things out". The expert said: "If you have low-quality crisps in your pantry, get rid of them."
But that doesn't mean ditching them altogether - just go for healthy alternatives or homemade varieties.
