Eliminating inflammatory foods can promote a healthier body composition during the transition phase

Menopause isn’t directly responsible for weight gain, but it can cause a shift in body composition that leaves many women unhappy with their body image.

Understanding the elements underpinning these physical changes can help women take back control of their bodies.

Tania, a hormonal coach on TikTok recently highlighted three foods to eliminate from the diet for better weight control.

She shared: “There are three things you should take out of your diet if you’re a woman over 40, you want to lose weight, you want to balance your hormones and feel great."

According to the expert, coffee should be the first item eliminated from one's diet.

"Coffee increases your cortisol levels, it whips your adrenal glands, it does not support them and it's full of mould," the hormonal coach warns.

The caffeine's negative impact on cortisol levels makes it particularly problematic for menopausal women.

The second recommendation targets the elimination of fizzy drinks from one's diet.

"Consuming soda can actually decrease your digestive enzymes," the expert shared.

Tania also warned that sodas reduce magnesium levels in the body, while those containing artificial sweeteners can trick the brain into craving more.

The final dietary change recommended by the expert is the elimination of processed sugar.

"Processed sugar does a number on our gut health, our adrenal glands and also increases inflammation in our body," the nutritionist explained.

Inflammation can make it harder for the body to process insulin and cause a rise in glucose levels, which in turn causes fat to accumulate in the liver.

Taking these dietary rules on board, as well as cutting down on calories, can help target multiple aspects of menopausal health concerns.

Billie Steele, 52, recently claimed that she achieved her dream physique by creating a calorie deficit in her diet.

The slimmer, who embarked on her journey to tackle her belly fat when she was 48, shared in a clip: “I think I’ll have a six-pack by the time I’m 52!"
