Britons hoping to lose weight should increase their vegetable intake to see results
Diet plays a key role in a person's weight loss journey. To lose fat, you must be in a calorie deficit and consume nutritious foods.
A dietician shared her "easy fat loss tips" for those who want to slim down. One crucial tip was that dieters should increase their vegetable intake for weight loss results.
Nutritionist and dietician Leanne Ward said that eating more veggies is the "one simple tip people can do to promote fat loss without having to do anything crazy".
She said on YouTube: "Everybody wants to double their exercise, halve their intake, cut out all of their favourite foods, but the one thing that we know is so helpful for fat loss is eating more vegetables.

"People hoping to lose fat should eat a minimum of five servings of veggies per day. One serving is equal to half a cup of cooked vegetables, or one cup of salad."
The dietician explained that vegetables have incredible properties. While they are not calorie-dense, they are nutrient-dense.
Vegetables are also a high-volume food, meaning they keep the body feeling fuller for longer.
How to achieve fat loss, according to an expert
If you feel full, you'll be less inclined to reach for unnecessary snacks throughout the day. Reaching for junk foods between meals is an easy way to consume more calories.
Vegetables are also "incredibly important for gut health", as they contain nutrients, vitamins, minerals and fibre.

During the day, slimmers can snack on vegetable sticks and dip. Serve dinner with a side of veggies and sneak some more in by chopping them finely into homemade sauces.
