“Over a year ago I was feeling really unhealthy, really unwell and didn’t like the way that I looked, and I knew that I needed to make some changes," said Maria.
She worked on finding an approach that would enable long-term results and wasn't a fad.
“The differences that I’ve seen since last year, I’ve lost almost three stone in weight and I’ve also lost eight inches from my waist," she said.
“They do say that your waist shouldn’t be above 32 inches and mine was considerably above that and is almost down to that now."
Maria's time-restricted eating patterns involved having two meals a day between 10:30am and 7:30pm.
“I eat two meals a day, I have brunch and I have dinner, I do not eat snacks in between my meals," she explained.
"I have brunch between 10:30am and 11:30am and then I have my dinner around 7pm and 7:30pm."
Equally important was ensuring each meal packed a good amount of protein for long-term fullness.
Breakfast typically consists of two eggs with a side salad, of tomatoes, rocket, and avocado.
“After that, I always have a bowl of Greek yoghurt, proper Greek yoghurt, not Greek-style yoghurt," she shared. "The reason for that is that Greek yoghurt has more protein.

“On top of that, I may have a few blueberries and I’ll always have nuts as well, so again more protein. So my brunch consists of quite a bit of protein, some healthy and natural fats.”
She added: “The reason I don’t get hungry between my meals is because I eat protein and natural fats.
"What I don’t eat a lot of is carbohydrates, and this is the second big change.
“I have a pile of vegetables with my evening meal but what I have pretty much given up are things like potatoes, pasta, rice and bread."
