An expert shares one of the best diets for those looking to lose fat
Weight loss becomes more difficult over the age of 40 as the metabolism slows down, but it's not impossible to shift those extra pounds.
Speaking exclusively to GB News, nutrition coach at OriGym James Bickerstaff discussed the benefits of a good diet plan.
He said: "If you're over 40 and looking to lose weight, focusing on nutrient-dense foods and balanced diet plans can make a huge difference."
James recommended plans from the Mediterranean diet to a plant-based diet. One of the most effective for slimming is the ketogenic diet, he added.

The plan is low in carbohydrates and high in healthy fats with a moderate protein content.
James said: "This focuses on reducing your carbohydrate intake and increasing your fat consumption to induce ketosis, which is a metabolic state when your body burns fat instead of glucose as energy.
"Again, this is another diet that is effective for weight loss and improving insulin sensitivity which decreases with age.
"By lowering insulin levels, your body will be better equipped to mobilise fat stores, leading to significant weight loss.
"Additionally, consuming a ketogenic diet has been linked to reduced inflammation and improved cognitive function."
Not only can dieters lose weight on the plan, but some studies suggest it has other positive benefits on our health.
Those following the plan will often eat less than 20 grams of net carbs per day, picking foods such as eggs, meat and fish and ditching processed items.
The expert added: "With this diet, you could enjoy an avocado and egg breakfast bowl for breakfast, a grilled chicken salad and courgette noodles with pesto and prawns for dinner to enjoy a rich and diverse keto diet."
The plan is designed to help the body enter a fat-burning state called "ketosis".

However, it may not be for everyone. The diet is very restrictive which can make it difficult to stick to and may cause dieters to miss out on key nutrients.
This comes as an expert gave exercise tips for those looking to burn more calories.
He said high-intensity workouts are the best for "incinerating stubborn fat" and promoting weight loss.
Explosive workouts include moves like jump squats, high knees, burpees and mountain climbers.
