An expert urged slimmers to pick up some organic salad leaves at the supermarket

A healthy diet is essential if you want to lose weight, and some foods in particular will speed up and enhance this process.
Dr Anthony Balduzzi from The Fit Mother Project shared the "10 best foods you should eat for weight loss, health and energy". When it comes to vegetables, the naturopathic doctor shared why organic salad greens should be your go-to.
The expert told slimmers to head to the supermarket and pick up some pre-packaged, triple-washed organic salad greens.
He said: "When I go I typically buy three, four or five packets of these. This is your solution to getting more vegetables."

They are incredibly easy to prepare - all you have to do is grab a handful and pop them on a plate - so it's an easy way to get your veggies without peeling, chopping or cooking.
Mixed salad leaves can be made more interesting with a drizzle of olive oil, a dash of salt and pepper or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes - "it takes two seconds to make".
For a heartier salad, chuck in a handful of olives and some hard-boiled eggs, plus a healthy source of protein like chicken or turkey breast.
The great thing about a salad is that it's so quick and versatile too. There are so many nutritious ingredients slimmers can incorporate into this healthy meal, from cucumber to chickpeas, tomatoes to tofu, Brussels sprouts to blueberries.

As for fruits, the "best" weight-loss-friendly option is the blueberry. According to the expert, blueberries will "increase fat burning" and target your midriff.
While slimmers can see results by upping their intake of organic salad leaves and blueberries, it is also important that they avoid foods that will hinder their weight loss goals.
Those looking to improve their health and weight were told to watch out for the "worst' snack as it's the "living definition of empty calories" and can cause weight gain.
