Scandi lifestyle expert at Contura Catharina Björkman explained why it is important to opt for natural cleaning ingredients for the oven.
She said: "When deep cleaning areas that frequently come into contact with food it is even more crucial to avoid harsh chemicals."
A good homemade solution can be made with baking soda and vinegar, according to the expert.
Catharina continued: "First things first, make sure your oven is completely cool.
"Then remove any food debris that may be left on the racks or scattered at the bottom of the oven.
"Next, coat the bottom of the oven and rack with baking soda.
"Then pour a small amount of vinegar on top until a satisfying foam forms, which will break down any greasy build up."
Homeowners simply need to leave the solution to work before wiping it away for sparkling results.
