Tesla is bringing its futuristic Cybercab to the UK, offering motorists a glimpse of the self-driving technology after founder Elon Musk announced that it was the future of autonomy.

The self-driving vehicle will be on display at the Tesla store in London Westfield from November 20 until December 8 and is part of a broader European tour, with other exhibitions in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway.

The display follows the vehicle's initial unveiling at the We, Robot event in Los Angeles on October 10, where it was presented alongside Tesla's Robovan and the Optimus humanoid robot.

Interested visitors can find details about timing and registration on the Tesla website for London, as well as Berlin, Stockholm, Oslo, Amsterdam and Paris.

The Cybercab is Tesla's vision of fully autonomous transport, designed without traditional vehicle controls like a steering wheel or pedals.

Access to the vehicle will be managed entirely through the Tesla app, streamlining the user experience, while also aiming to boost sustainability and safety.

The company is inviting the public to experience this next step in automotive evolution firsthand at their store displays.

Previous research from the Elon Musk-led brand found that drivers using Autopilot technology in the third quarter of 2024 were 10 times less likely to be involved in crashes compared to average drivers.

Currently, all Tesla vehicles come equipped with Autopilot as standard, providing enhanced safety and convenience features, although restrictions remain in the UK.

The manufacturer aims to eventually offer unsupervised Full Self-Driving capabilities across its entire range, including Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y.

The Cybercab aims to revolutionise point-to-point transportation with its premium yet affordable autonomous service, which will even include wireless charging.

The robotaxi offers flexible usage options, allowing customers to book it for quick journeys or retain it for entire days, with users being able to summon the Cybercab through the Tesla app.

Speaking at the launch in October, Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk said: "The autonomous future is here. We have 50 fully autonomous cars here tonight. You'll see Model Ys and the Cybercab. All driverless."

At the same event, the Robovan was also exhibited, with Musk promising to "solve" high-density travel with low costs when travelling.

The 53-year-old billionaire also spoke of the ability for someone to have their "own personal R2D2/C3PO but better with the Optimus humanoid robot.

He said: "This will be the biggest product ever, of any kind. Because, I think every one of the eight billion people on earth is going to want to their Optimus buddy and there's going to be maybe two and then they'll be producing products and services."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Most recently, Kim Kardashian showed off a "weird" photoshoot with a Cybercab and the Optimus robot. The Instagram post showed Kardashian even sitting on the lap of the robot inside the gold Cybercab prototype.

Previous posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, show the supermodel interacting with the humanoid robot including making a heart with their hands and the Optimus dancing.
