A new electric vehicle has gone on sale in the UK which looks to stand out from the rest of the crowd with an affordable price point, impressive range and the absence of a rear window.
Leading electric vehicle brand Polestar has announced that its highly anticipated new vehicle is on sale in Europe and Australia, with deliveries expected from August.
The new Polestar 4 is the Swedish brand’s latest luxury electric vehicle as it aims to combine the best features of an SUV and a coupe.
With the car now available to purchase, drivers will see prices start from £59,990, coupled with an impressive electric range of 379 miles.

The new SUV can go from 0-60mph in just 3.7 seconds with a maximum power output of 400kW or 544 horsepower.
While the car may seem like a standard, high-end luxury electric vehicle, drivers will see one major difference – the elimination of the rear window.
Polestar said it would enable a “new kind of immersive rear occupant experience” as the glass roof stretches beyond the rear occupants’ heads.
The rear-view mirror has been replaced with a high-definition screen that shows a real-time feed from a roof-mounted rear camera.

Polestar said this will enable the driver to have a far wider field of view compared to other modern cars.
Maximilian Missoni, Head of Design at Polestar, says: “With Polestar Precept we previewed a stunning new occupant experience by removing the rear window and pushing the rear header, which plays an integral safety role, further back.
“This means that now, rear occupants can have a unique experience in our SUV coupe.”
The digital feed can also be deactivated by the driver to allow them to see the rear occupants if needed, which is one of the biggest design changes in recent years.

The space saved by the rear window has been converted into boot space, allowing drivers to carry larger loads and give them a better view of the road.
The car has already been released in China and there have not been any “discouraging words” according to motoring expert Quentin Willson.
This comes as Polestar’s parent company, Volvo, announced it would end funding for the company, transferring operational and financial support to its largest shareholder – China’s Geely Holding.
Volvo said Polestar was entering “the next exciting phase of its journey” with a strengthened business plan and set for future growth.

A spokesperson for Geely Holding said it would continue to provide “full operational and financial support” to Polestar in the coming years.
It added: “This support will not require a reduction of Geely Holding shareholding in Volvo Cars.”
