At present, Lexus has seven models on the market. These include the LBX, UX, NX, RZ, RX, ES and LM, across hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric powertrains.
According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), Lexus has sold 1,660 vehicles so far this year, enough for 0.74 per cent of the total market share.
This represents an impressive 50 per cent growth in new vehicle registrations compared to last year, when it sold just over 1,100 vehicles by the end of February.
Elon Musk's Tesla placed second with an impressive score of 95.29 per cent, with its electric vehicles being some of the most popular around the world.
Despite its critics, Tesla models are some of the best-selling electric vehicles in the UK, with drivers appreciating the impressive battery ranges of more than 300 miles, convenient Supercharging locations and in-car technology.
Japanese brands Toyota and Honda came in third and fourth place, respectively, with these vehicles historically being incredibly reliable, with low breakdown rates and cheap repair costs.
The top five brands based on the Reliability Rating
- Lexus - 97.01 per cent
- Tesla - 95.29 per cent
- Toyota - 94.65 per cent
- Honda - 94.31 per cent
- Skoda - 93.08 per cent
A spokesperson for Honest John said: "Lexus's NX model was also the most reliable car overall, ahead of the Skoda Karoq and Toyota Corolla.
"Meanwhile, it's Tesla owners that were the most satisfied with the overall ownership of their cars at the time of the survey, with an 89.41 per cent approval score."
Surprisingly, Mercedes-Benz was voted as the fifth-worst brand for reliability, with a score of just 86.03 per cent. Honest John noted that it was a "huge disappointment" given the premium price of its models.
Alfa Romeo was voted as the least satisfying vehicle with a poor rating of 76.67 per cent, followed by Jeep (82.31 per cent) and Vauxhall (84.53 per cent).
