Earlier this month, the manufacturing giant said it would be recalling 144,516 vehicles over fears the rearview camera image may freeze when the vehicle is reversing.
The recall impacted certain 2022-2024 Ford Maverick vehicles equipped with Connected Touch Radios (CTR) as the issue could increase the risk of a crash.
The United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said dealers would provide software updates free of charge.

Ford also recalled more than 90,000 vehicles as engine intake valves in the vehicles may break while driving.
NHTSA documents stated that the issue could result in engine failure and a loss of drive power, potentially resulting in a greater chance of someone being involved in an accident.
This impacted certain 2021-2022 Bronco, F-150, Edge, Explorer, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Aviator vehicles equipped with either a 2.7L or 3.0L Nano EcoBoost engine.
The documents added: "Dealers will inspect each vehicle to determine its cumulative number of engine cycles. Engines will be replaced on vehicles that do not pass the engine cycle accumulation."
Volkswagen
A US-based recall notice has been issued for almost 100,000 electric SUVs to fix door handles which do not offer enough protection against water.
The recall will include ID.4 electric vehicles from model years 2021 to 2023 given the door handles may not have met the factory specifications.
Guidance from the NHTSA states that the door handles could allow water to seep into the printed circuit board and lead to malfunctions causing the doors to lock.

More than 15,800 Fiat 124 Spider sports cars will be recalled over fears a software error could deploy incorrectly.
The vehicles, which are from model years 2017-2020, may see the error cause the front airbags to deploy with excessive force in the event of an accident.
Owners of the affected vehicles should be contacted in the coming months as dealers will update the airbag control module software for free.
