The BMW X3 family
BMW
The German brand has been forced to recall more than 291,000 vehicles in the United States over fears the interior cargo rails could detach causing a crash behind them.
In a filing with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), drivers will have their rear cargo rail attachment bolts replaced for free by dealers.
The recall will affect models manufactured between 2018 and 2023 including X3 sDrive30i, X3 xDrive30i, X3 M40i, and X3 M models.
The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe
HYUNDAI
Despite announcing a recall last month, the South Korean brand has recalled a further 49,000 vehicles in the US over fears the airbag could unintentionally deploy, with certain 2024 Santa Fe and Santa Fe hybrids impacted.
The NHTSA filing stated: "The main floor wiring harness may chafe against the passenger-side second-row bench seat assembly and become damaged, which can cause the airbags to deploy unintentionally or prevent the airbags from deploying in a crash."
Hyundai Motor America has also recalled 12,000 2010-2013 Genesis Coupe vehicles, with an ignition lock switch error which can cause unintended vehicle movement.
The Lexus LX 600 SUV
LEXUS
Earlier in June, Toyota announced that almost 100,000 Tundra pickups and around 3,500 Lexus LX 600 SUVs (both 2022-2023) SUVs had an issue that could cause engines to lose power while driving, potentially increasing the risk of an accident.
The Japanese brand has now announced that it will be forced to replace the entire engine for all of these petrol-powered vehicles.
Drivers of the impacted vehicles will be able to have the remedy work completed for free, although the manufacturer did not say how much it would cost the brand.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Some Tesla Model Y models were included in the recall
TESLAThe Elon Musk-owned brand was forced to recall 1.8 million vehicles at the end of July in response to a software issue that could cause the bonnet to fully open and obstruct the driver's view.
Tesla announced that it had started providing over-the-air software updates to the vehicles in June and would continue to monitor the situation after it was first spotted in China earlier this year in March.
The recall includes 2021-2024 Model 3, Model S, Model X, and 2020-2024 Model Y vehicles as the impacted models.
