One of the largest car manufacturers in the world has shown off its new electric vehicle prototype which is tipped to be launching in just two years.
Honda unveiled the “Honda 0 Series” at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) with the world premiere of the Saloon and Space-Hub EV models.
In a bid to reassure motorists about the future of electric vehicles, the 0 Series will offer “stress-free charging performance” and “worry-free battery performance”.
For models launching in the second half of the 2020s, when connected to a rapid charger, it will take just 10 to 15 minutes to charge from 15 per cent to 80 per cent.

Honda is also hoping to limit the degradation of battery range to less than 10 per cent after a decade of use.
This would act as a major benefit for drivers who are concerned about range and may be put off from investing in electric vehicles over fears the vehicle may not be suitable for their needs.
The Japanese brand has vowed that 0 Series vehicles will become its most aerodynamic vehicles ever thanks to a low floor height.
Shinji Aoyama, global vice president of Honda, said: “We have gone back to basics and formulated the Honda 0 Series with a design for the new era.
“A bold and pure proportion that from the first glance is overwhelmingly different from other EVs to evoke a new perspective for people.”
The new 0 Series models will be launching in North America in 2026, followed by Asia, Europe, Africa and South America.

Honda aims to be carbon neutral by 2050, in addition to increasing the ratio of electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles (hydrogen) sales to 100 per cent globally by 2040.
The Tokyo-based manufacturer has described the Saloon EV as its flagship concept model and has touted it as containing a human-machine interface.
This will enable “simple and intuitive” operations through the central instrument panel that aims to create a seamless user interface.
The Space-Hub looks slightly more unconventional with the back of the vehicle being flat, although this does allow for a spacious cabin and “excellent visibility”.

Honda has also unveiled a new “H mark” logo to launch the brand into the future of electric vehicles.
With the introduction of a new generation of EVs, the Japanese brand decided to design a new “H mark” after sticking with the older logo since 1981.
The design, which is meant to look like two outstretched hands, is said to represent Honda’s commitment to electric cars.
The new “H mark” will only be used for the next generation of Honda EVs, including the 0 Series models.
