Motorists are being warned of near-hours long delays on the M62 following a "serious collision" and fire which took place over night.
National Highways: North-West reported that traffic was being held on the M62 westbound between J20 Rochdale and J19 Heywood following a serious crash.
All emergency services attended the scene, with National Highways traffic officers assisted with management of the scene, with drivers still dealing with long delays.
The latest update from National Highways warned that drivers are still dealing with 10 miles of congestion and over 90 minutes of delays as many use the motorway to commute to work.

Traffic cameras show long tailbacks along the M62 during rush hour

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that a 24-year-old man passed away from his injuries at the scene.
They added: "This section of the motorway is still closed whilst enquiries continue, and delays are expected to continue into today.
"We'd ask motorists to find alternative routes and plan if they can and thank you in advance for your understanding and co-operation."
National Highways added that an investigation would need to be completed to assess damage to the road surface and bridge before the road can be reopened.
Greater Manchester Police added that an Audi A5 S line hit a bridge after coming off the carriageway last night.
Police officers remain in attendance and called on motorists to avoid the area. It is believed that no other vehicles are involved.
Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads, with 10 miles of congestion on the approach.
Detective Constable Rachael Stafford, from GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), called on drivers with information to call the police or Crimestoppers.
She added: "Since we became aware of the incident last night, we deployed officers to the scene and are now in a position to appeal to any members of the public who were on that stretch of road last night and can help with our enquiries, this could include those who have access to dashcam footage.
"At the heart of this is a man that has sadly lost his life in tragic circumstances and family and friends who are now having to come to terms with losing a loved one this morning."
National Highways have suggested that drivers allow for extra times along their journeys to compensate for the delays in traffic.
They added that drivers should plan ahead following the warning, adding that drivers may wish to reroute or even delay their journey.
