Major car brands displayed their latest electric vehicle offerings at Everything Electric London this week

A number of the most highly anticipated electric cars on the market have been on display this week, with each car having something unique for every driver looking to switch to an EV.

The Everything Electric London show is taking place at London's Excel exhibition centre this week, with the latest and greatest on display for motorists to see and experience.


With more than one million zero emission vehicles on UK roads, drivers are turning their backs on petrol and diesel vehicles at a quicker pace.

To help drivers learn more about the upcoming batch of electric cars, GB News has rounded up the most unique and powerful EVs on display.

The new MGS5 EV will be the brand's flagship moving forward, with an impressive range and an even more impressive price. The MGS5 will replace the wildly popular ZS model, but with a lower total cost.

The SUV will launch in the UK this month and across Europe in Q2 of 2025. Drivers will have the chance to choose between three different variants: MGS5 EV SE Standard Range, MGS5 EV SE Long Range and the flagship MGS5 EV Trophy Long Range.

MG is one of the largest companies which sells more electric vehicles to private customers than any other brand, showing confidence in the Chinese-owned brand.

The Renault 5 E-Tech is one of the French manufacturer's most striking models in recent years, with the Pop Yellow! colourway, and is the brand's latest splash into more affordable electric cars.

The first 200 models were delivered to the UK in February, while customers should see the electric vehicles arrive at showrooms in Spring 2025.

The 5 is Renault's third electric car on the UK market and offers drivers a smaller vehicle for a lower price than the popular Megane or Scenic models.

The best-selling electric car brand is quickly becoming a household name in the UK, with BYD selling more cars in Q1 of 2025 than the entirety of last year. It is hoped the sleek Sealion 7 will boost those sales further and kickstart the burgeoning market for Chinese EVs.

For those wanting extra features that come with the evolving technology packed into electric cars, all BYD models come equipped with karaoke available on the Sealion 7's 15.6" rotating central infotainment screen.

BYD is also expected to launch several new cars over the coming years with its European Denza brand, which will act as the premium, high-end subsidiary of the Chinese giant.

Everything Electric London played host to the first public showing of the IONIQ 9 - the new flagship model for Hyundai. Many car enthusiasts have already stated that the SUV will be a major competitor to the dominance of Range Rover, which has yet to release an electric car.

The SUV is huge, with drivers having the option of a six-seat variant, where the middle seats can turn around and turn the car into a mini conference room, or a seven-seat choice.

Hyundai's first full-size SUV makes use of the brand's "aerosthetic" mantra, which aims to combine the most superior aerodynamics with the best aesthetics for motorists. While the price has not yet been confirmed, the IONIQ 9 will be on sale in the Summer.

Omoda is another Chinese mega-manufacturer which is looking to take advantage of a gap in the market for electric SUVs at affordable prices.

Omoda, alongside Jaecoo, which operates under the umbrella of Chery International, offers "affordable premium" SUVs and sells electric, hybrid and traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

The E5 has the unique distinction of having a zero per cent finance offer for drivers, in addition to a zero down payment as part of the brand's "Value. Every. Thing." moniker.

After accusations of an ageing fleet, the Elon Musk-led brand has hit back with an impressive refresh of the popular Model Y, complete with a Cybertruck-inspired headlight strip.

The new Model Y has an increased range, a staggering charging time of 166 miles in just 15 minutes, and a complete redesign "from the front bumper to the taillight".

Teslas are known to be jam-packed with impressive technology, with the company promising new media options, a live weather map and estimated times for detours.

While the vast majority of drivers are unaware of Changan, the Chongqing-based manufacturer could be the latest Chinese brand to crack the European and UK markets over the coming years.

The Deepal S07 SUV is manufactured by the Chinese brand Changan, but is designed in Italy and engineered in Birmingham. The quality of the SUV has been described as "remarkable", with technology designed for use in Europe and the UK.

With a price point under £40,000, owners of the electric vehicle will be able to benefit from cheaper tax costs as they won't have to pay the Expensive Car Supplement when paying their Vehicle Excise Duty.
