Elderly drivers are being warned of rising car insurance prices which could see them hit with enormous costs, with some regions costing people £250 more than others.
New research has found that some areas of the UK could see pensioners hit with premiums that are 63 per cent higher than other regions.
Drivers over the age of 65 could see their average annual premiums hit almost £660 if they are living in London, compared to just over £400 in Wales.
This comes as premiums for all drivers surge by 43 per cent between January 2023 and January 2024, as some motorists were quoted more than £3,000.

Elderly drivers in London will see the most expensive car insurance prices

Drivers continue to deal with expensive car insurance prices, in addition to the pricy cost of motoring, with average insurance rates rising further.
Younger drivers are also facing hefty costs with average premiums ranging from around £2,000 to as much as £3,000.
Many on social media have also vented their anger at car insurance prices over recent months with drivers seeing the cost of their premiums rise dramatically.
Former Top Gear host Rory Reid wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, to speak out about his difficulty getting car insurance for a fair price to insure his Tesla Model Y.
The TV presenter explained how he had been quoted £8,200 to insure the electric vehicle, joking that the price seemed like the cost to insure a Bugatti.
Greg Wilson, Quotezone.co.uk CEO and car insurance expert, said: “Those aged 65 and over are facing increased financial pressure as car insurance premiums soar by 43 per cent across the country, from £334 - £478 in just 12 months from January 2023 to January this year – that’s an extra £144.
“These older drivers are predominantly living on pensions which are being stretched due to cost-of-living side effects – such as escalating energy bills and grocery costs, making this additional pressure a real concern.
“Although car insurance is normally at its lowest for this particular age group and well below the general UK average premium of £956, car related expenses such as fluctuating fuel costs and hikes on repair and maintenance bills, are creating a challenge for older people to keep up with the cost of driving.”

Drivers could save money on their insurance in a number of ways
GETTYWilson said that there were ways that elderly drivers could save by installing anti-theft devices or dash cams which will make the vehicle more secure, allowing the insurance providers to cut costs.
Where a driver parks the car can also have a huge impact as the vehicle will be safer when parked in a garage, on a driveway or on a carport.
