DVLA issues deadline to drivers ahead of huge operational changes launching this month

Changes to opening hours can be seen between December 24 and January 1
Motorists are being warned about changes to the DVLA's standard operations in the coming weeks which could have an impact on Britons.
With the festive period fast approaching, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has unveiled its opening times for Christmas and New Year.
A note on the DVLA website clarified that customers would be able to use online services throughout the Christmas and New Year period.
The agency has also taken to its social media channels to make motorists aware of the changes over the festive season.

Some DVLA services will be unavailable over the coming weeks

The DVLA contact centre will be closed for three full days over the Christmas and New Year period, although online services will be available.
Between Monday, December 23, and Saturday, January 4, 2025, DVLA contact centre opening times will have normal operating hours.
To help motorists deal with the upcoming changes, GB News has compiled a list of which days DVLA contact centre services may be unavailable.
Monday, December 23 - 8am to 7pm (normal hours)
Christmas Eve, December 24 - 8am to 12pm
Christmas Day, 25 December - closed
Boxing Day, December 26- closed
Friday, December 27 - 8am to 5.30pm
Saturday, December 28 - 8am to 2pm (normal hours)
Monday, December 30 - 8am to 5.30pm
New Year's Eve, December 31 - 8am to 5.30pm
New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025 - closed
Thursday, January 2 - 8am to 7pm (normal hours)
Friday, January 3 - 8am to 7pm (normal hours)
Saturday, January 3 - 8am to 2pm (normal hours)

GETTYIt comes as the DVSA also announced opening times for its services over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
Driving test centres and DVSA vehicle test stations will be closed on Christmas Day, with "some centres" being open on all other days before normal hours resume on January 2.
DVSA customer service centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, December 28, December 29 and New Year's Day (January 1).
