More than one million popular vehicle models are being recalled over fears an issue could increase the risk of a serious accident.
One of the largest vehicle manufacturers in the world - Stellantis - has announced the recall of 1.16 million vehicles in North America.
According to a filing with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, a software issue is preventing rear view cameras from displaying.
Regulators say this error could increase the risk of a crash as a result of an issue with the radio software.

The recall includes the 2021-2022 Dodge Durango, 2021-2023 Chrysler Pacifica, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 2022-2023 Jeep Compass, Grand Cherokee, Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, and Ram Promaster vehicles.
Reuters reported that the recall notice impacts 1.033 million vehicles in the United States and 126,000 cars in Canada.
An over-the-air software update will be available to motorists soon, with drivers able to accept the update on the media screens if they have an affected vehicle.
Stellantis announced that the software has already been updated in more than 735,000 vehicles already.
According to Reuters, Stellantis began studying the issue in October 2023 by reviewing warranty data, field records and customer assistance records.
It added that it was unaware of any injuries or crashes that were caused as a result of the rear view camera having issues.
Stellantis was forced to recall more than 211,000 SUVs and pickup trucks last month with fears that a software error could cause electronic stability control systems to fail.
A total of 158,000 Ram 2500 vehicles were affected, as well as 53,000 Dodge Durangos and 524 Ram 3500s were involved.
The NHTSA said the issue was with a defective anti-lock braking system which deactivates the stability control system.
The recall was critical as the system prevents a loss of steering capabilities in emergency situations if the driver loses control of the vehicle.
Data from the NHTSA revealed that nearly 35 million vehicles were recalled in 2023, with more than 1,000 recall notices for vehicles, car seats, tyres and more.
Sophie Shulman, NHTSA Deputy Administrator, said: "While not all recalls are high profile, all recalls are a safety issue. Unrepaired recalls can make your vehicle less safe for you, your family, and others on the road.
