Drivers warned of M25 closures forcing motorists to travel through Ulez routes
GETTY
The closures will be in place 9pm Fridays to 6am on Mondays on the weekends through October and November
Drivers have been warned of upcoming weekend closures on the M25, which could potentially lead to Ulez charges if not navigated carefully.
The closures, scheduled for three weekends in October and November, will affect slip roads connecting the M25 and A3 and will see drivers diverted through London Ulez roads.
Junction 10 of the M25 will be closed from 9pm Fridays to 6am on Mondays on the weekends of October 4, October 18, and November 1.
The closures are part of a three-year £317million project to update the busiest section of the M25, which sees over 300,000 vehicles pass through daily.

NATIONAL HIGHWAYS
A spokesperson for National Highways stated: "While the Ultra Low Emission Zone across London will remain in force during these closures, the signed diversion routes have been designed to ensure that drivers would avoid any charges."
The closures follow on from three full weekend closures earlier in the year, with more planned for 2025.
Additional overnight closures are taking place this week until September 27, affecting various slip roads and sections of the A3.
Drivers are advised to follow signed diversion routes to avoid Ulez charges. However, two of the seven listed diversions use the A243 past Chessington World of Adventures, which falls within the Ulez.
National Highways has provided seven diversion routes for drivers to navigate around the closures.
These routes are designed to keep vehicles outside the Ulez and help motorists avoid the daily £12.50 charge for non-compliant vehicles.
Drivers are strongly advised to follow the signed diversion routes or check their vehicle's compliance on the Transport for London website before travelling.
For those heading eastbound on the M25 towards Gatwick and wishing to access the A3, the diversion involves exiting at Junction 11 and following the A320 and A245.
Westbound M25 traffic towards Heathrow looking to join the A3 northbound should leave at junction 9, following the A243, A309, A307, and A245.
Southbound A3 traffic needing to join the westbound M25 should exit at Painshill junction and follow the A245 and A320.
To navigate the closures effectively, drivers are urged to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra time for travel.
Public transport alternatives may be also worth considering for some journeys during the affected weekends, the agency suggested.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Junction 10 and 11 of the M25 will be closed on weekends throughout October and November
PAThe benefits of the scheme along the M25 are to improve safety and journey times, reduce congestion, smoothen the flow of traffic and increase capacity while providing better connections.
It also hopes to improve access for cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders as well as support local and national economic growth.
