The T03 model will be available for drivers to lease through the Motability scheme

Drivers with disability allowances have been told they can now access a new electric vehicle alongside a range of other vehicles through the Motability Scheme, which are available at a fraction of the price.

It comes after Leapmotor has announced that its T03 model is available to qualifying customers with zero Advanced Payments.

The compact electric car offers B-segment space at an A-segment price, making it an affordable option for those receiving mobility allowances.

With its spacious interior and practical five-door layout, the T03 provides quality, comfort and technology without compromise.

The T03 is powered by a 70kW (95hp) motor and features a 37.3kWh battery, offering up to 165 miles of range on the WLTP combined cycle.

The vehicle has a 6.6kW charger and maximum DC charging power of 48kW and can be recharged from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in just 36 minutes.

Features include a 10.1-inch central infotainment touchscreen, keyless start, climate control, and an 8-inch LCD instrument cluster.

Drivers can also benefit from a rearview camera, 15-inch alloy wheels, heated electric mirrors, all-around electric windows and a 42-inch panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade.

Qualifying customers can now lease the Leapmotor T03 with zero Advanced Payments and a weekly Personal Independence Payment sacrifice for as little as £76.45.

For retail customers, the T03 is priced from £15,995 and is available from £199 a month over four years, with a £199 deposit and zero per cent APR.

The Motability Scheme updates its vehicle lineup every three months to ensure customers have access to the best possible choices despite changes in the car market.

Damien Dally, Leapmotor UK Managing Director, said: "This is a significant moment for the brand, with the T03 now available on the Motability Scheme. We are on a mission to help drivers make the switch to electric by delivering the highest level of specification and the highest level of technology, as standard."

He added: "The T03 embodies that mission by offering Motability customers unrivalled value for money, exceptional levels of standard equipment and an effortless driving experience. It continues to set new standards in the compact EV sector."

The Motability Scheme allows eligible recipients of qualifying mobility allowances to exchange their weekly payments for a new vehicle.

The package covers insurance for up to three drivers, servicing, repairs, MOT, breakdown cover, and tyres. When leasing an electric vehicle through the scheme, customers also receive either a home chargepoint with standard installation or a subscription to the BP Pulse network of public chargepoints.

Additionally, customers get a Motability Go Charge card providing access to more than 50,000 public charge points through a single card and app.

The car market is experiencing significant changes, with manufacturers increasingly focusing on electric vehicles. This shift has resulted in more electric cars being available on the Motability Scheme, including many with no Advance Payment.

Despite petrol and diesel cars becoming more expensive to produce and harder to source, the scheme remains cheaper on average than leasing elsewhere.
