One social media commenter joked that the rapper had 'the worst taste' in his vehicle choices

Two luxury cars have been sold at auction for more than $260,000 (£202,000) despite being criticised as some of the "ugliest cars in the world".

Two lucky bidders have been able to get their hands on two luxury vehicles shrouded in controversy after they were seized from former owner, popular American rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine.

The vehicles are wrapped in a custom paint job designed to make it appear like the vehicle has been hit by a spattering of paintballs.

The 2019 Lamborghini Urus had a total of 30 bidders and was sold for a staggering $175,043 (£136,358) through GSA Auctions - the official US Government auctions website.

It currently has just short of 50,000 miles on the clock and was described as being in good condition, although prospective buyers were not able to physically inspect the vehicle beforehand.

The United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) seized the vehicles from the rapper's Florida mansion earlier this year, TMZ reported.

The second vehicle seized was a 2017 Bentley Continental GT Speed which had just 16 bidders and sold for just $85,500 (£66,583).

This paint-splattered GT has 38,803 miles on the speedometer, although the GSA Auctions site notes that the windshield and both side windows have damage and need to be replaced.

The convertible roof also has tears in the fabric and would need to be replaced by the new owner of the supercar.

Images of the vehicle show a bright red leather interior with extensive damage to the windows including one which seems to have been pierced with a bullet hole, according to XXL Magazine.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, has a long history of controversial acts, stemming from his music, gang affiliations and his 2018 arrest for racketeering.

The 28-year-old was often seen boasting about his wealth on social media, including his range of high-end supercars, luxury watches and diamond-encrusted chains.

Both cars were sold in Opa Locka, Florida, and showed that the vehicles had been sold at auction as part of a United States Government Seizure for "nonpayment of internal revenue taxes".

Taking to social media, a number of people reacted to images of the vehicles, calling them "so ugly" and "a clown car", with one noting that the rapper has "the WORST taste".

According to online marketplace Auto Trader, a 2019 Lamborghini Urus in matt grey could set drivers back £143,991 - although these are likely to be kept in better condition than the ones owned by 6ix9ine.

The most expensive 2019 model on Auto Trader would set drivers back £194,990, with just two previous owners and 12,000 miles on the speedometer.

However, drivers looking to get their hands on a 2017 Bentley Continental GT Speed could be able to spend almost £20,000 less than the damaged vehicle up for auction in the United States.

A 2017 model of the same vehicle with a 4.0-litre petrol engine and 521bhp is available with 82,800 miles on the clock in Berkshire.
