Asda has announced it has opened its 100th store
Asda has opened its latest store as it continues a rapid rollout across the country.
It has opened 30 new stores, including its 100th branch.
The supermarket giant announced it will open more convenience stores in the coming months.
It has started a program to convert 116 convenience Co-op petrol stations into Asda Express locations.

Hexham was the 100th store to open and it opened last week.
An Asda spokesperson said: “This acceleration into convenience plays a key role in our ambition to grow our share and become the number two supermarket in the UK.
"We look forward to bringing Asda’s great value fuel and groceries to more communities across the UK as we continue our rollout in the coming months.”
The Asda Express stores are smaller locations which stock a range of branded and own-label products.
