Britons warned as a product sold on Amazon poses a 'serious risk of injury' to babies
GETTY/OPSS
The product did not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005
A swim float with a canopy designed for babies has been rejected at the border for posing a serious risk of injury.
The product, which was sold on Amazon, failed to meet requirements for safety according to the Office for Product Safety & Standards.
It was deemed that if a "gust of wind" was caught under the product, it could lift the baby out of the water, potentially causing the baby to fall from a dangerous height.
The import was rejected at the border before entering the country, so Britons have been warned they will not receive it if they had purchased it.

This is the second product Amazon has listed in the last three months that posed a serious risk of injuries to babies.
The SwimBoBo Baby Swim Float was also deemed unsafe by the OPSS for the same reasons as the Swim Float with Canopy.
The product was rejected at the border and destroyed with the listing being removed from the Amazon marketplace. SwimBoBo Baby Swim Float also originated in China.
