The supermarket has also become the first UK supermarket to remove protective sleeves over corks from its own-label wines.
The change will see the removal of the protective sleeves over corks on 46 of Aldi’s wine lines.
This includes "shopper favourites" such as Côtes du Rhone, Rioja Reserva and Atlantique Rosé.
The move, which will reduce aluminium and plastic use, represents a significant step in reducing unnecessary packaging across the retail sector.
