Aldi is set to introduce a two-bottle limit on its Crémant De Loire as the supermarket slashes its price by 44 per cent for New Year celebrations.
The sparkling wine will drop from £8.99 to just £4.99 between Friday December 27 and Tuesday December 31.
The dramatic price reduction comes as part of the supermarket's festive offerings, with the purchase limit aimed at ensuring more customers can access the deal.
The supermarket expects unprecedented demand after wine critic Jane MacQuitty of The Times hailed it as "the slashed-price steal of the season".

The Specially Selected sparkling wine, which was launched as part of Aldi's Autumn Winter range, has earned praise for its distinctive flavour profile.
MacQuitty specifically highlighted its "mouthwatering, creamy, honey flecked, quince and golden apple fruit" noted.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: "We want everyone to be able to raise a glass of quality wine this festive period, without breaking the bank."
"By lowering the price of our exquisite Crémant De Loire to just £4.99 and introducing a two-bottle limit, we're ensuring more customers can experience this exceptional sparkling wine at an unbelievable price," she added.
The retailer, crowned Drinks Retailer of the Year, is also offering a broader wine sale, with more than 60 bottles in its Specially Selected range available at 25 per cent off from 9th December until New Year's Eve.
