Keir Starmer has unveiled a radical three-point plan for NHS reform, warning the health service must 'reform or die'

A doctor has claimed that "we need more carers" to save the NHS.

Speaking to GB News, Dr Laurence Buckman said: "We're not talking about doctors and nurses, we're talking about carers. If you can't get people out of hospital, you're never going to shake this up.

"That means a significant change in the way the health service thinks about itself. Money will not solve this.

"We need people, and not necessarily more and more and more doctors, although that would be nice and not necessarily more nurses because we are going to need a large number to replace those who are retiring.

"But we need people in the community keeping people out of hospital. It has to be a health service, not a sick service."
