Swapping processed foods for more nutritious options could add years to your live
Enjoying a nutritious diet is not only great for your waistline, it has a myriad of health benefits.
From lowering your risk of developing type two diabetes and heart disease to maintaining strong bones, there are many reasons to increase your intake of fruits, vegetables and other healthy food sources.
According to one doctor, nourishing your body with healthy foods is the key to longevity.
A medical doctor from The Herbal Doctors (@herb_docs) took to TikTok to share his top tips for living a longer life.

GETTY IMAGESSpeaking about following a healthy diet, the expert stated: "Arguably, this is the most important tenant to follow.
"The patients I see that have lived the longest eat primarily natural foods: lots of fruits, lots of vegetables, dairy, meat and fish.
"But the key here is the lack of refined, processed foods and snacking - very little snacking and very little processed foods."
Natural foods are understood to be foods that are free from synthetic and artificial ingredients or additives, unprocessed and full of nutrients, according to the experts at Holland & Barrett.
Other doctors have also stressed the importance of eating well for a better chance of living a long life.
One medical practitioner claimed that the "key" to longevity is adding two foods to your diet.
The expert advised people to enjoy a plant-based diet, which means prioritising plant-based foods rather than cutting out meat and animal products entirely.
Harvard Medical School advised stocking up on fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, oils, whole grains, legumes and beans.

As well as prioritising natural foods, the TikTok doctor advised Britons to find their "purpose" to boost their chances of living longer.
He said: "This could be anything - playing sports, playing an instrument, your job or community work, reading, writing, even drawing."
He revealed that his patients who lived the "healthiest and longest lives" always had a purpose that "gets them up in the morning".
