Arthritis is caused by pain and inflammation in the joints.

It can happen at any stage of life and can make doing simple tasks more difficult or even painful.

Surgery, medicine and physiotherapy are common treatments of the illness.

This comes as Britons have been warned of serious problems as many wait "far too long" to get treatment for issues such as back pain.

Many in the UK will put off getting health check-ups as they feel they are too busy, potentially putting themselves at risk.
